I found this garage by chance, no prior phone call or appointment made, as my car was rapidly dying on me and I was travelling for 9+ hours home. They helped hugely, diagnosing, ordering parts in straight away, trying different options, explaining what had happened and giving realistic options and expectations. They got me back on the road as soon as they could and thanks to their help I made it home! I was so lucky to have found this garage to help as it could have been a very different outcome. "I was in search of a workshop to inspect my new car after a previous diagnosis had been done. I brought the car in the morning and in less than 2 hours, I was called with a very reassuring feedback that my car is okay, with just one thing needing change, nothing hidden to extract fees like what some would do. I was told exactly what was wrong and quotation before working on the car. Within a reasonable period I was called that everything's been done and when I arrived I was showed exactly what was changed.

I first stopped by in a struggling car with no appt, based on a friend's recommendation, as I was passing near unsure if it was safe to drive home and my usual garage had given me a 10 day wait to have it checked. They made a diagnosis on the spot and booked me an appt a couple of days later, all sorted in a couple of hours with cost updates along the way."

"One of those things, just driving home at 4.30pm on a Friday, and suddenly, a terrible noise came from the front drivers side wheel. I don't live that local, so I first pulled into Kwik fit in Penicuik to see if they could help. TBF, they said they had no time and recommended Spanner Time just round the corner off of the main road. I drove round (still terrible noise) and pulled up. I was immediately helped by the friendly staff. I sat in the office, while they jacked up my car, took out the offending bit if metal and had me on my way in 15 minutes for a total of £0.00 !!! "New to owning a car despite driving for about a decade. Bit green. Bought our first 2nd hand car last August. Well under market rate so expected a few gremlins to come out. Recently, when they did, spanner time were fantastic from start to finish. From sourcing cheaper parts from suppliers, to coming to a reasonable agreement on affordability and safety. They did do work that I was not expecting, but it was a safety matter that they couldn't let go unchecked so felt like they had mine and my families best interests at heart. Never felt like they were trying to take advantage. New wheel bearings, new intercooler and hose, and new handbrake all sourced and fitted for a price that, having asked around, is reasonable, if not excellent. Will be back. Thanks guys."

I had visited a few other garages to check the turnaround time for my repair, but the professional atmosphere and clear willingness to assist at Spanner Time LTD immediately convinced me. The service was excellent and remarkably fast. I received my car back a full day ahead of the scheduled pick up time. My car is running perfectly, and I am extremely happy and satisfied with the entire experience and the results. They called me in to fix my front windscreen pipe blockage issue and got it resolved in quick time.

In fact, they got the squeshers and immediately got it replaced.
