About Spanner Time Garage
Spanner Time Garage was founded in February 2025 with a simple mission: to provide honest, high-quality automotive repairs and servicing to the Penicuik community. We started with just one car lift and our founder — an experienced mechanic with over 25 years in the industry — and within a few months had built a strong local reputation through careful workmanship and exceptional customer service.
As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to our core values of transparency, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Every vehicle that enters our garage receives the highest standard of care and attention to detail. From the first conversation to the finished job, we explain what's needed, price it fairly, and only proceed with your say-so — because earning and keeping our customers' trust is what matters most.
The Beginning
Spanner Time Garage opens its doors with a single car lift and our founder, bringing 25 years of experience to Penicuik. The garage starts by offering basic servicing and repairs to the local community.
Expansion of Services
After an impressive first month, we invested in diagnostic equipment to expand our service offerings. We now provide comprehensive diagnostics for all makes and models, enabling us to handle more complex repairs.
Growing Team
With increasing demand, we welcomed a new technician to our team. This allowed us to increase our capacity and reduce wait times for our customers while maintaining our high standards of quality.
Building a Reputation
In just three months, we've built a stellar reputation in Penicuik, with numerous five-star reviews and a growing base of returning customers. Our commitment to quality service and transparent pricing has resonated with the community.

Specialist services
Building on what we already do well by adding more specialist services, so more of your car's needs can be handled under one roof.
Latest diagnostics
Investing in modern diagnostic equipment so we can find faults faster and keep pace with newer vehicles and systems.
Apprenticeships
Creating apprenticeship opportunities for local young people — passing on real skills and supporting the next generation of mechanics.
